Green mountain lentils, or Puy
onion, mushrooms, stock
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp coriander
1 fresh chilli (or a good sprinkling of chilli powder)
tamari or soya sauce
Fry the onion and the lentils and mushrooms for a couple of minutes gently.
Add all the other ingredients, stock garlic and tamari & cook gently for 30 - 40 mins, till lentils are soft.
Cool the mix and blitz/ puree a little
Add 1 cooked potato, or breadcrumbs, & one egg yoke, mix with hands and chill.
Fashion into burgers, and bake for 30 mins, turning once.
Or pan fry careful as here.
Serve with mayo, salad
& piri piri sauce
I also reformed 2 of my burgers into 4 hippy cake/ patties.
And they made an excellent side dish.
I made them to go with a delicious lemon roast lamb, with potato cakes
