chilli sauce on a Sunday

by Choclette

I saw this recipe over at Celia's excellent Fig Jam & Lime Cordial blog http://figjamandlimecordial.com/

it's delicous
great a-top a beefburger

Since I haven't changed the recipe, although I didn't actually need the arrowroot as I reduced it quite a lot, you can find out just how to make it at the delicious chocolate log blog here

Lovely looking bottle of sauce - isn't it a stunning colour. Interesting that you didn't use the arrowroot either - maybe I should try that next time. Thanks for following my blog.

My pleasure Choclette.

I'm always particularly impressed by home-made sauce recipes.

Choclette, it's a fantastic recipe. Thanks for sharing it with us! My chilli bush is going mental, so I'm thinking of making another, hotter batch today... :)

Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon Grillers.....!

Did you use Locoto chillies - I'm not familiar with them - or sub?

That botle looks very much like the ones used in Mexican restos where you knock back your head and a waiter pours as much wine as he can get in your gapping mouth without you choking.....!

Not that I'm suggesting anything of course.....!

I used the milder ones you get from Waitrose, your Lushness
I know them as fresno, still spicy but they don't make your eyes run.

I don't think I'd play that wine game with you when we're out.
It might be FAR too embarrassing for me and my hard woman image if I lost.

LOL Gillygirl - you are the last person I would think of as a Hard Woman....!

Quite a few years ago we went to Cancun before going on to the 'Real Mexico'. One night we were at dinner when a tribe of very fat, short Mexicans in full costume and wearing sombreros surrounded our table (as they do).

They were playing quite a few instruments really well and it all seemed quite 'jolly' untill out came that bottle and the knocking-back-the-throat thing which went all over my nice white blouse....!

They only targeted women..............!!!!!!!!

Moral of the story - never trust a man sporting a sombrero, especially with a great big smile..!

I shall be having a go at that chilli sauce!
